The ASEICA congress reinforces A Coruña's position as a leading MICE tourism destination

From tomorrow until Thursday, ExpoCoruña will host the ASEICA congress, one of the most important oncology research forums in the world, organised by the Spanish Association for Cancer Research.
The meeting celebrates its 18th edition this year, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the association. The event will bring together some 500 professionals from the scientific field and will undoubtedly further strengthen A Coruña's position as one of the main MICE tourism destinations in Spain, generating a positive impact of great magnitude not only at an economic level, but also linking the city with important scientific advances.
A Coruña, a meeting point for cancer research experts
The congress will feature national and international professionals working in universities, research centres and hospitals. Thus, the opening day will be attended by Marisol Soengas, from the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) and president of ASEICA; Rafael López, from the University Hospital Complex of Santiago de Compostela; Luis Paz-Ares, from the University Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid; Joan Massagué, from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York; Victoria Sanz-Moreno, from the Institute of Cancer Research in London; Mitchell Levesque, from the University Hospital of Zurich and other researchers from countries such as Holland, Germany, France, Israel, the United States and Italy.
There will be different conferences, round tables, flash talks and a photographic competition, among other activities, where the focus will be on the development and innovation of study and work techniques in relation to the early detection of cancer and its treatments.
