The city will be the setting for a debate on the responsible use of artificial intelligence in the military sphere
5 of december of 2025
Next year, A Coruña will continue to be a benchmark in MICE tourism, not only because it hosts numerous conferences and events throughout the year (fifteen are already scheduled), but also because it will host the third REAIM (Responsible Artificial Intelligence in the Military domain) summit, thus becoming the international stage for debate on the future of the responsible use of artificial intelligence in the military sphere.
Representatives from governments, international organisations, companies, universities and civil society will meet on 4 and 5 February 2026 at the PALEXCO facilities to advance real and applicable measures that guarantee the safe and ethical use of AI in defence.
'The choice of A Coruña reinforces our role as a benchmark in innovation and technology, driven by the collaboration between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defence, A Coruña City Council and the Spanish Agency for the Supervision of Artificial Intelligence, together with the Netherlands and the Republic of Korea,' said Mayor Inés Rey.
A Coruña thus takes over from The Hague and Seoul in a global event that will boost the city's international presence, marking the first time that the REIM summit has been held in Spain.
