From 22nd September to 2nd October, A Coruña will host the 5th edition of Noites do porto, a festival with which to immerse oneself in the musical ecosystem of A Coruña. The event, a pioneer in the celebration of live performances in the port area and which stands out for offering exclusive performances in the city, expands its commitment to the city this 2025 with more cultural activities and concerts than ever; adding more days, spaces and new capsules to its programme to integrate other artistic disciplines.
Noites do Porto, with the collaboration of the City Council of A Coruña, has been known since its inception both for offering unique and exclusive live performances and for its stylistic variety. Record presentations, tour closings or even premieres of shows were the identity of a different event in which musical quality is a priority. Local and international names such as Alcalá Norte, Bad Gyal, Baiuca, Bala, Bernard Butler, Califato ¾, Delaossa, Derby Motoreta's Burrito Kachimba, James Rhodes, Jorge Drexler, La Perra Blanco, La Plazuela, Morgan, Mudhoney, M. Ward, Rocío Luna, Rodrigo Cuevas, Sen Senra or Xoel López, among other names, have passed through previous editions.
Among the first confirmations for this year are the presence of Israel Fernández, the most relevant flamenco artist of the moment in Spain, who will inaugurate the Teatro Colón's participation in the festival; Deadletter, in what will be the only date in 2025 in Galicia of the band called to occupy the throne of groups like Fontaines DC or Idles; or two of the brightest stars of the jazz scene in the United Kingdom: the trumpeter Yazz Ahmed and the saxophonist Jasmine Myra.
And among these first confirmations there is also space for styles rooted in Noites do Porto, such as urban music and hip-hop, which on this occasion will feature Sho-Hay (one of the founders of Violadores del Verso), on what will be his only date in Galicia this year; and, for the first time, there will be space for soul and garage by incorporating Michelle David & The True Tones and The Gruesomes into the line-up.
Tickets for the first Noites do Porto concerts will go on sale on Monday 9th June, from 11.00 a.m., on the online platforms Ataquilla and Ticketmaster. In the case of tickets for the live performance by Israel Fernández (who will bring the festival to a close on Thursday 2 October at the Teatro Colón), the date when tickets will go on sale will be announced soon.
More workshops and new capsules
In addition to the concert venues, the festival strengthens its ties with Cormorán Film Fest - which will give rise to new exclusive premieres in A Coruña and Galicia of documentaries linked to music - with the creation of Noites de Cine, and with the plastic arts and with Coruña Gráfica through Noites coa Arte, which will mean that, for the second consecutive year, a local artist will interpret the final poster of the event - whose reproductions, in a limited series, will be put on sale with the support of the festival.
The fifth edition of Noites do Porto consolidates the Noites de Flamenco e Jazz capsule, which this year will be held between the Jazz Filloa and the Teatro Colón; but there is also room for novelties. Among them is the incorporation of gastronomy to the Noites nos Bares, the nights in which djs and selectors perform in the city's cultural venues.
