The Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, visited A Coruña's stand at the Madrid Fusión international trade fair this morning. During her visit, the Minister of Tourism was able to see at first hand the gastronomic offer that A Coruña is presenting these days in the capital, as well as to greet the delegation from A Coruña, headed by the chef Sheila Barbeito, from the Roots Restaurant, and Gonzalo Cotelo, from the Morriña Restaurant. The minister highlighted the quality and innovation of A Coruña's proposals at Madrid Fusión at the Saborea A Coruña stand, in the presence of the president of Saborea España, Susi Díaz, and the president of Hostelería de España, José Luis Yzuel.
The City Council of A Coruña, through the Consortium of Tourism and Congresses, continues with the presentation of its gastronomic offer at the international fair Madrid Fusion, which began yesterday and will end tomorrow. Inés Rey's government, which exhibited its cultural and leisure offer for this year at Fitur, completes the presentation of the city's tourist potential in Madrid at this gastronomic event with an important national and international projection.
Today, after starting the day with Larpeira de Amasarte and Infusiones Orballo at the A Coruña stand, La Empanada Viajera offered the public xouba empanada. Sheila Barbeito, chef at Roots (Picadillo Award for the best creative tapa 2022), was in charge of the Tapas Workshop: Lacónicas "Gyozas Lacónicas" and Gonzalo Cotelo, chef of Restaurante Morriña (winner of the Picadillo Tapas Competition in 2015; in 2019 highlighted for the best traditional tapa and in 2020 for the best tapa in pairing category), explained to the public "la tosta de San Juan": smoked sardine on brona and Acastrexa pepper jam.
The day will be rounded off with 'Lacón con grelos and chorizo' and, in the afternoon, Almond Cake from Amasarte and Conservas Coruñesas La Pureza with wines from Bodegas Bordel, following the programme of tastings, workshops and live demonstrations that A Coruña is bringing to Madrid Fusión this year.
During the three days of Madrid Fusión, products from the Lonja de A Coruña, Bodegas Pagos de Brigante, Bodegas Bordel, Lodeiros organic vermouth, Acastrexa, Os Biosbardos, Conservas La Pureza, PortoMuíños, Quesos Cagiao, Infusiones Orballo, Bonilla a la vista, La Empanada Viajera and Amasarte will be on offer at the Saborea A Coruña stand.
