26 of january of 2024
The City Council of A Coruña will land on Monday at the international gastronomy fair Madrid Fusión with the aim of further consolidating the city as a power in avant-garde cuisine. In the twenty-second edition of this global congress, which will be held from Monday to Wednesday 31 at IFEMA Madrid, the chef Manuel Triay, from Taberna Triay and with several awards in the Picadillo Tapas Competition such as Best Creative Tapa 2023; and the chef Sheila Barbeito, from the Roots Restaurant, winner of the II Campeonato de Pinchos de Galicia 2023 and finalist in the National Tapas Competition of Valladolid 2023, will take part. The entire programme will take place in the space of Saborea España, a network of gastronomic destinations of which A Coruña is a member.
The presentation of A Coruña's gastronomy in Madrid goes hand in hand with the cultural and leisure offer that Inés Rey's government presented this week at FITUR, a meeting which, like this one, has a national and international projection of great relevance.
Madrid Fusión Alimentos de España returns this year under the slogan 'Where it all begins', recalling that it was the starting point and epicentre of culinary excellence, also serving as a meeting point for emerging talent and innovation. Premises shared by the city of A Coruña itself, which currently has around twenty restaurants with awards and distinctions thanks to their innovation and a new culinary commitment that transcends the traditional.
29th January programme
Monday will begin at the Saborea A Coruña stand with a breakfast with cake from Amasarte, followed by a vermouth session with a tasting of Cagiao cheese seasoned with Acastrexa products, empanada from Pablo Pizarro-La Empanada Viajera and Lodeiros organic vermouth.
In the afternoon, the public will be able to enjoy a sweeter moment with a larpeira from Amasarte, Orballo infusions, Lenatt creams or a needle of La Pureza preserves from A Coruña. Of course, there will also be a selection of the best wines.
In addition, A Coruña will be highlighting some of the city's most famous gastronomic events that take place throughout the year, such as the Territorio Atlántico-Reserva de Biosfera Gastronomic Days or Boucatise, the Gourmet Sandwich Festival. These dishes can be tasted at the Saborea A Coruña stand at midday.
A Coruña's programme for Madrid Fusión is completed the rest of the days with more tastings of products from the fish market, the Mariñas Coruñesas and Terras do Mandeo Biosphere Reserve, Conservas Amieiro, Patatas Bonilla, Chocolate Express, empanada from Casa Pardo, meat from Pío do Saleiro, organic products from Os Biosbardos or wines from Adegas Bordel and Pagos de Brigante. There will also be tapas workshops and wine tasting.
Madrid Fusión comes after the mayoress, Inés Rey, presented this week at FITUR the wide cultural and leisure programme of the city, which has already become a tourist destination of reference both nationally and internationally.
