A Coruña consolidates its leadership as a reference city in the sustainable tourism sector as it hosts BioCultura, the ecotourism and ecological products fair inaugurated in EXPOCoruña today and open to the public until Sunday.
The inauguration act had plenty of attendees, who were able to visit up to 150 exhibitors dedicated to all kinds of ecological and sustainable products related to food, craftwork, sustainable fashion, cosmetics and health. Thousands of visitors are expected to gather in BioCultura in the following days to discover the novelties of the tourism of the future, with guidelines also shared by the Government of Inés Rey, who in FITUR had already highlighted the importance of working in a sustainable way to reach realistic objectives that benefit the city and reinforce its landscape, gastronomic, cultural or patrimonial value and minimise the impact in all the fields of action.
During this first day of the fair, the public got to know more about ecotourism through a technical session in which several experts presented different visions about touristic activities that take place in destinations with a rich natural ecosystem. Thus, the main theme of the activity was focused on ludic and leisure alternatives which can take place in a responsible and sustainable way to reduce the environmental impacts as it strengthens other values such as those of the cultural, gastronomic or ethnographic kind.
BioCultura will host until Sunday over 120 activities, for instance showcookings and tastings of products such as coffees, ciders or seaweed, along with cooking classes with recipes made with product consumption in mind. There will also be the opportunity to take part in discussions dedicated to health such as is the case with OrganicFit Day, where it'll be discussed how to improve our wellbeing in a transversal manner, or with workshops about ecocosmetics. Bioconstruction talks will be held as well.
